Further Instructions

We have everybody here in the group and now we can get started.

I am sure that you all have studied the course outline and noticed that the course will be offered in the online mode. Good news is that we have a very small class and those in the class show up as members in this Ning group. So familiarize yourself with your class mates by going to their membership pages and saying hi to each other. Even though you may not meet each other in person but you can meet them here.

I am sure that some of you here have taken course in online mode and it is different experience then the face to face class time. It will require from all of you to pay close attention to the instructions here and to the course material.

It is organized into sessions and for the first week you are responsible to read the topics in session1 to session4. These topics cover various commands and example of the problems that can be solved using Maxima. You will also work the examples given to you in the assignment form from assignmen1 -assignment4.

For the second week the procedure is the same. You will read through the sessions5 to session9 and solve problems from assignment4 through assignment8.

You will submit first project on Sunday at the end of the second week of the semester. There is no new problem assignment for the project. I will ask you to submit few problems you have already done from assignment1 through assignment8. Therefore, please keep your solutions for each and every problem you solve.

I would suggest that you follow the procedure I am using to give examples in the sessions. i.e. you take the problem statement from the assignment and copy/paste the Maxima solution in a word file. This way you will have every problem solution ready and when I ask for the project you simply have to copy/paste the solution in the word file.
